When A Church Redevelops Into Retail Property

A 4,500 Square Foot Church In Houston Is Becoming A Restaurant

As you may know, we have recently launched retail on our platform in the lovely city of Houston. An exciting, unique property featured on our website is a historic church, located on the corner of Lawrence and 11th street at the heart of Houston Heights. The church will now be a 4,500 square foot retail space featured on 24,000 square feet of property. Renovations will begin once a tenant is solidified and can provide input on the direction of the construction.

The historic, 1940’s sanctuary features original architectural details - solid wood beams, stained glass windows and historic lighting detail. It certainly is a unique property with rich history - and we’re excited to see what retailer will make it “home.”  We think it’ll make a perfect place for a new restaurant, bar or storefront.

With Houston Heights being such a great retail area for us, thanks to it holding some of the highest grossing restaurants and one of the busiest grocery stores in the city, Kroger, we know this area is going to continue to thrive. Because of that, the property also provides plentiful parking with 54 spots available. Additionally, the property conveniently located right off Shepard, I-10, and 610 in Houston, allowing anyone coming out of town to easily access the site.

This unique property sits only 200 feet away from the Heights Hike, Bike Trail, and the Love Park, allowing the location to attract all the nature enthusiasts of the city. If you’re thinking about targeting customers who might have large appetites after their hike, this space would make a great restaurant potential, or really, anything the small business owner can dream up.
